"Memories will find you at the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju"
Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Namil) announced on July 7, 2025, that a total of 6,814 postcards?including 6,596 domestic and 218 international?were sent during the first half of 2025 through the 'NurinUchetong' in the Bomun Tourist Complex.
The 'NurinUchetong' is an emotional service that allows tourists visiting the Bomun Tourist Complex to write postcards during their trip and receive them after a certain period of time.
These postcards are sent both domestically and internationally twice a year, at the end of June and the end of December. This service helps people relive their travel memories and convey warm feelings to loved ones, making it a beloved experience for many.
The postcards sent in the first half of this year featured not only the beautiful scenery of Gyeongbuk, such as Uljin Euneo Bridge, Gyeongsan Bangokji, and Yeongju Seonbichon, but also the signature attractions of the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju, which is drawing attention as the host site for the 2025 APEC Summit.
The postcards, each designed to reflect a different season, vividly convey the atmosphere of each time of year and allow recipients to relive the emotions of their journey.
The Bomun NurinUchetong has been operated at the Bomun Lakeside Square for 11 years since 2015, and has established itself as a cultural content that goes beyond a simple postal service. From warm messages exchanged between family, friends, and couples to words of encouragement and resolutions sent to oneself, the postcards in the NurinUchetong provide comfort to the daily lives of many people.
President Kim Namil stated, "The 6,814 postcards delivered through the NurinUchetong are not just mail, but small yet profound messages filled with time and emotion," adding, "I hope these postcards quietly bring comfort and joy into someone's daily life." He also emphasized, "This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Bomun Tourist Complex, making it a particularly meaningful year. I believe the many stories shared through these postcards have added significance to this special moment."
Meanwhile, this year’s NurinUchetong postcards were sent to various regions overseas, including Asia, North America, Europe, Oceania, and Africa. Among them, the largest number went to Taiwan, followed by the United States, Canada, and France.
Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation plans to continue its efforts to connect tourists and the local community emotionally through various emotional content in the future.
