NHN KCP Supports Trade Payment Consultations at Japan Export Consultation Event On the 3rd, the "2025 Suwon Special City Japan Buyer Visit Export Consultation" was held in the main conference room of the Suwon City Hall annex. NHN KCP

The event was hosted by Suwon City Hall and organized by KOTRA to support domestic small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in entering the Japanese market. Ten buyers from Japan participated. Seventy small and medium-sized consumer goods manufacturers based in Suwon, producing cosmetics, clothing, household appliances, food, and pet products, held face-to-face export consultations with the Japanese buyers.

At the export consultation event, NHN KCP, together with global card company Visa, introduced an immediate payment method for trade settlements using buyers’ corporate cards through the Global Trade Payment Platform (GTPP). The service allows exporters and importers to negotiate and share the transaction fee, and payments are completed on the same day as the export consultation. Immediate payments were made on-site that day. Under the traditional bank letter of credit payment system, both exporters and importers had to pay bank fees, and exporters received payments one month later.

GTPP is a dedicated trade payment platform first launched in Korea in October last year by KOTRA, Visa, and NHN KCP. It enables overseas buyers to easily pay import costs using credit cards. Currently, the service is available in Japan, Singapore, Mongolia, and Taiwan. The company plans to expand the service to the United States, Vietnam, India, and the Philippines within this year.

An NHN KCP representative stated, "We will further enhance our competitiveness in the global trade payment sector by advancing GTPP and various other payment solutions," adding, "We will continue to contribute to strengthening the export competitiveness of domestic companies in cooperation with local governments and a variety of domestic and international partners."

NHN KCP provides a comprehensive e-commerce infrastructure, including payment gateway (PG) and value-added network (VAN) services, as well as easy payment, settlement, and security solutions. As the No. 1 company in the domestic electronic payment service market, it became the first in the industry to surpass 1 trillion won in annual sales last year.

Recently, the company has been expanding its payment infrastructure into trade payment and housing payment markets, as well as into manufacturing and cash payment sectors. It is also exploring new business areas such as local currency and stablecoins. NHN KCP plans to actively leverage its accumulated payment infrastructure and technological capabilities to grow into a comprehensive merchant service provider in the future.
