KT announced on July 7 that it has been operating an artificial intelligence (AI)-based real-time spam blocking keyword registration system since June 11. After about one month of pilot operation, the number of spam blocks per day increased by 150%. Although keywords registered by AI accounted for only 5.5% of the total, they were responsible for 45.9% of all blocks.
With the introduction of this AI-based system, KT has reduced the registration time to a real-time level and established a 24-hour response system by enabling spam keyword registration even on weekends and at night. Lee Byungmoo, Executive Vice President and Head of KT AX Innovation Support Division, said, "In the future, we will further enhance the accuracy and scope of our AI blocking model so that it can respond to more sophisticated spam, such as mutated spam."
