New Product Offers More Affordable Options for the Elderly
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced on July 7 that it has launched a new insurance product for people with pre-existing conditions, called 'Easy Insurance GoGo Refresh.'
This product features lower premiums compared to existing easy insurance products for chronic disease patients without diabetes, by including a history of diabetes as a disclosure item.
In November last year, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance launched 'Easy Insurance 3655 GoGo Refresh 100 Years,' which received a positive response from chronic disease patients without diabetes. The new product reflects the demand of elderly customers with pre-existing conditions by expanding the maximum enrollment age from 70 to 90. It is offered as a renewable plan for 10 to 30 years (up to age 100) with a non-refund structure, providing more reasonable premiums.
The conditions for medical history disclosure have also been diversified. The previous item of 'hospitalization or surgery within 6 years' has been subdivided into 'hospitalization or surgery within 2 to 6 years,' allowing a wider range of customers with pre-existing conditions, from mild to severe, to enroll. Through the accident-free contract conversion feature, customers who continue to manage their health can reduce their long-term premium burden.
The product includes special riders for heavy ion radiotherapy for cancer, as well as special riders for specific treatments for cerebrovascular and ischemic heart diseases at general hospitals, providing coverage for the latest cancer treatment techniques and various treatment methods for major diseases.
A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance representative stated, "We developed this product so that customers with various chronic diseases such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia do not hesitate to enroll due to premium burdens," and added, "We will continue to expand our lineup of easy insurance products tailored to customer characteristics."
