Namyangju City Holds Orientation for Youth Language School
Mayor Joo Supports 'Youth Language School' as a Platform for Youth Growth

Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced on the 6th that it had successfully held an orientation on the 4th to mark the launch of the special language program 'Youth Language School,' designed to support young people's self-development and growth.

Mayor Joo Gwangdeok emphasized the importance of creating a space where young people can grow and communicate together as the core message of this event.


Mayor Joo Gwangdeok reiterated his youth-centered administrative philosophy, stating, "I hope the Youth Language School will go beyond simple language classes to become a place where young people encourage one another and lay important stepping stones in their lives."


'Youth Language School' is a community-based language program newly launched in Namyangju City this year. It is designed to help young people improve their language skills and naturally build connections with each other through small group, conversation-focused classes.


This program will run for a total of 12 weeks from July to September, offering three courses?English, Chinese, and Spanish?each with both weekday and weekend sessions.

To enhance the program's effectiveness through empathy and communication among young people, Namyangju City selected six local young instructors through an open recruitment process. A total of 333 young people applied for 90 available spots, resulting in a competition rate of 3.7 to 1.


The orientation was attended by 70 participating young people and included a program introduction, instructor introductions, and time for communication within each class.


During the event, the instructors and participants shared future schedules and discussed their aspirations and goals for the program.


The weekday sessions of the 'Youth Language School' will be held at the Youth Startup Center (Hopyeong-dong), while the weekend sessions will take place at the second branch of Youth Kkotgan (Byeollae-dong).
