Jeonnam Province Opens 'Direct Transaction Marketplace' Showcasing Jeonnam Flavors at KTX Gwangju Songjeong Station

Relay Operation of Excellent Local Agricultural Products at 'Hometown Ttorak' Until Year-End

Jeonnam Province is collaborating with KORAIL Distribution to operate a direct transaction marketplace at 'Hometown Ttorak' in Gwangju Songjeong Station, aiming to expand stable sales channels for young farmers and small-scale farmers.

Hometown Ttorak is a local specialty store operated by KORAIL Distribution in cooperation with local governments, and will be open until December. It is a win-win store introducing excellent agricultural and specialty products from various cities and counties in Jeonnam to a floating population of more than 20,000 KTX passengers per day.

Because producers sell directly without intermediary distribution margins, consumers can purchase fresh food at reasonable prices, while farmers are able to secure new markets. This has been well received by both parties.

Starting with Hwasun County in May and continuing with Hampyeong in June, the market achieved sales of 70 million won over two months.

From July to August, Jangheung County will participate, and various cities and counties in Jeonnam will take part in a relay format through the end of the year.

Participating farms present not only fresh local produce but also processed goods such as fruit juice, fermented foods, traditional sauces, and dried vegetables. On-site tastings and discount events are also held.

Jeonnam Province plans to use 'Hometown Ttorak' to raise the brand value of Jeonnam agriculture and to develop it into a win-win direct transaction platform that broadens consumer contact points with unique products from each city and county.

Park Sangmi, Director of Agricultural and Food Distribution at Jeonnam Province, said, "Hometown Ttorak is a special space that delivers the taste and warmth of home in the city," and added, "I hope those visiting their hometowns or setting out on a trip will take with them at least one warm gift for their parents or a friendly food to share with friends."
