A man in his 20s injured his mother with a weapon at a hair salon in Changwon, Gyeongnam Province.

According to Yonhap News on July 5, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that they had apprehended and are investigating a man in his 20s, referred to as A, on suspicion of special injury for wounding his mother with a weapon. At around 12:02 p.m. that day, A is accused of wielding a weapon at a hair salon in Seongsan-gu, Changwon, injuring three people, including his mother, B. B was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and is reported to be in critical condition.

The hair salon, which was the scene of the incident, was a business operated by B and was open at the time. During the attack, there was one female customer and one male customer present in the salon. It was reported that both customers were also injured during A's rampage. The female customer suffered facial injuries, while the male customer sustained minor injuries.

Police, responding to the report, arrested A at the scene in the act. A police official stated, "We are investigating the specific motive and other details of the crime." Police plan to further investigate the exact circumstances of the incident concerning A, and are also considering additional charges, including attempted parricide.
