"Prime Minister Kim Expresses Gratitude to National Assembly for Passing the Supplementary Budget Bill"
On July 4, Prime Minister Kim Minseok emphasized, "It is time to devote all our efforts to overcoming the current crisis and restoring people's livelihoods," as the supplementary budget bill passed the National Assembly's plenary session.
After the supplementary budget bill was approved at the National Assembly's plenary session that day, Prime Minister Kim expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks to the collective will to overcome the economic crisis and restore people's livelihoods, the supplementary budget bill was able to pass the National Assembly swiftly."
Prime Minister Kim pledged, "The government will promptly execute the supplementary budget approved by the National Assembly so that we can provide assistance as quickly as possible to the people who are facing difficult and urgent circumstances."
He explained that the government would swiftly implement the livelihood recovery consumption coupon program, which provides up to 550,000 won to all citizens, to invigorate the struggling domestic market, and would accelerate the investment promotion budget aimed at boosting the economy.
Prime Minister Kim stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure that support programs for small business owners and vulnerable groups are implemented thoroughly and meticulously, so that warmth can quickly reach people's lives. In addition, as we have reflected a revenue adjustment of 10.3 trillion won for fiscal normalization, we will make even greater efforts to enhance fiscal transparency and accountability."
He added, "We will also faithfully implement the increased support for childcare fees for infants aged 0 to 2, as well as the daytime activity service support program for people with developmental disabilities, keeping in mind the purpose of these initiatives and ensuring there are no setbacks."
