The Damyang Regional Self-Sufficiency Center (Director: Cho Taeseop) held a 'Body and Mind Activation Competition' on the 4th at Mujeong Hall in Mujeong-myeon, with about 80 participants including self-sufficiency work project participants and staff.
The event was attended by County Governor Jeong Cheolwon, Park Eunseo, Vice Chairperson of the Damyang County Council, Lee Jeongok, Chairperson of the Damyang County Welfare Foundation, local social welfare facility heads, and Self-Sufficiency Center board members. The 'Body and Mind Activation Competition' began with a commemorative ceremony and featured a variety of participatory programs, including sports activities and community programs.
County Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "The Damyang Regional Self-Sufficiency Center has established itself as a model institution for job creation for low-income middle-aged and older adults," and added, "The county will continue to provide support so that participants can achieve stable self-reliance in a pleasant environment."
Meanwhile, the center is currently operating seven self-sufficiency work project teams, with 64 participants engaged in cafes, cleaning and disinfection, farming, and parts assembly services. In addition to economic activities, the center is also providing various support for self-reliance, such as assistance in obtaining certifications.
