Recently, 'Lovebugs' have been rapidly increasing throughout the city along with the hot weather. Although they are beneficial insects and do not harm people, they are causing inconvenience and discomfort to residents.
At the site, Mayor Park stated, "Even if Lovebugs are beneficial insects, the inconvenience experienced by residents is an issue that cannot be overlooked," adding, "We will continue to strengthen eco-friendly disinfection methods to ensure that Mapo residents can live with peace of mind."
Mapo District plans to continue systematic disinfection activities along with ongoing monitoring to prevent Lovebugs from causing inconvenience to residents.
