After Tiffany, Dior, and Cartier Breaches... Now It's Louis Vuitton

Customer Names, Gender, Country, Phone Numbers, and Email Addresses Leaked

Following Dior, Tiffany, and Cartier, it was belatedly revealed that the French luxury brand Louis Vuitton also experienced a personal data breach.

On July 3, Louis Vuitton Korea announced on its website, "We regret to inform you that a third party temporarily accessed our system and leaked some customer information," adding, "We became aware of the incident, which occurred on June 8, only yesterday."

According to Louis Vuitton, the leaked information includes customer names, gender, country, phone numbers, and email addresses.

The company stated that the database did not contain financial information such as passwords, credit card details, bank account information, or other financial account data.

Louis Vuitton explained, "We took technical measures such as blocking access immediately after the incident occurred, and we have notified the relevant authorities and are cooperating closely with them."

The company also emphasized, "We place the highest value on trust and confidentiality with our customers," and added, "We are currently further strengthening our system security."

Previously, personal data breaches also occurred at Dior and Tiffany, brands under LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), the world's largest luxury group, and are currently under investigation by the Personal Information Protection Commission.

Dior apologized for discovering in May a data breach that had occurred in January, while Tiffany announced in May that a breach had taken place in April. Cartier also notified customers of a data breach that occurred last month.

The luxury online platform Mustit announced that there were two hacking attempts in May and June, and that members' personal information such as names, gender, and date of birth may have been leaked. The potentially leaked data includes membership number, user ID, registration date, name, date of birth, gender, mobile phone number, email, and address. Information of withdrawn members was not included.

On the Mustit website, users can check whether their personal information was leaked and which specific items may have been exposed.
