Kim Gunhee Special Counsel: "Questioning Head of Sambu Construction-Related Company"

"We Will Summon Mrs. Kim at an Appropriate Time"

The special prosecutor team led by Min Jungki, which is investigating allegations related to Kim Gunhee, summoned and is currently questioning the head of a company involved in the Sambu Construction stock manipulation case on July 4.

On the afternoon of July 4, Special Prosecutor Oh Junghui stated during a regular briefing held at the KT Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, "We completed the search and seizure related to the Sambu Construction case at around 11 p.m. yesterday, and today we are summoning and questioning the head of a company related to Sambu Construction." Oh specified that the summons took place at around 2 p.m., but did not disclose the identity of the individual in question.


Oh further explained, "Going forward, we plan to analyze the seized materials and conduct related investigations as quickly as possible," adding, "We will also verify whether there was any intent to destroy evidence in connection with the relocation of the Sambu Construction office." He also stated, "Investigations into other cases are ongoing through various methods, including requests for data from the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), account tracking warrants, and summons for questioning."


Regarding the summons, Oh clarified that there had been no contact or coordination with Kim Gunhee's side, but said, "We will proceed with the summons at an appropriate time after comprehensively considering the progress of the investigation, various circumstances, factual relationships, and legal reviews."


The special prosecutor team had previously conducted search and seizure operations at a total of 13 locations, including Sambu Construction, DYD?which was Sambu Construction's largest shareholder?and six related companies, as well as the residences of seven suspects, just one day after the official start of the investigation.
