Daehan Shipping and KLCSM are conducting the first half-year safety and health training for partner companies at the KLCSM headquarters in Jung-gu, Busan, on the 27th of last month.
The training was attended by more than 80 people from 57 partner companies nationwide. Daehan Shipping and KLCSM, a ship management specialist, both reviewed the safety and health cooperation system among shipping affiliates and shared their expertise. The training focused on practical topics such as major accident case studies and prevention rules, hands-on practice with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency's Risk Assessment Support System (KRAS), and case studies of prosecution and rulings under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
Previously, in 2021, Daehan Shipping established a dedicated department to strengthen its capabilities in the field of safety and health, and obtained ISO 45001 certification for its safety and health management system at the end of that year. Based on this, the company has been conducting safety and health training twice a year, once in the first half and once in the second half, to support partner companies and maximize synergy.
Daehan Shipping and KLCSM also plan to provide consulting services to small and medium-sized partner companies that face difficulties in safety and health management due to a lack of organization and budget.
A representative from Daehan Shipping stated, "We will continue to provide practical training and support so that our partner companies can reduce the management burden related to safety and health and manage worksites more thoroughly," adding, "Going forward, Daehan Shipping will continue to align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management and make greater efforts to create safe workplaces with a safety and health system that meets global standards."
