The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education began full-scale operation of practical survival swimming training using mobile swimming pools for elementary schools in the province starting July 4, as the summer season gets underway.

This initiative is a physical education support program designed to ensure that students who face difficulties in receiving swimming education due to disparities in swimming pool infrastructure between regions can learn to swim safely.

In particular, since classes are held in large mobile swimming pools installed in unused spaces within schools, travel time is reduced and the risk of safety accidents during transportation is minimized.

The practical survival swimming training is based on the "Chungnam Standard Survival Swimming Education Curriculum" and consists of an 80-minute basic class. The program focuses on hands-on activities such as how to wear a life jacket, survival strokes for buoyancy experience, and survival floating.

Alternative programs have also been prepared for students who have difficulty entering the swimming pool, and certificates will be issued to those who complete the training.

The mobile swimming pools are equipped with various facilities, including a classroom for theoretical education, a training pool, showers, and changing rooms.

The provincial office of education is also thoroughly managing hygiene and safety by conducting daily disinfection, drainage and filtration, and water temperature control.

Superintendent Kim Ji-cheol stated, "This practical survival swimming training using mobile swimming pools will help bridge the gap in physical education between regions and be of great help in protecting students' lives in real crisis situations. We will continue to actively support so that more schools can benefit in the future."
