On July 4, Inha University launched the I-RISE (Region Innovation System & Education) Business Headquarters, embarking on a new innovation model aimed at fostering joint growth between the region and the university.
The launch ceremony was attended by President Cho Myoungwoo, Kim Yoonhui, Managing Director of the Jungseok Inha Academy, Do Seonghun, Superintendent of Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education, Park Hyuncheol, Director of the Incheon RISE Center, and Kim Doohan, President of the Inha University Alumni Association, among others.
The I-RISE initiative is drawing attention as a collaborative model in which the region overcomes its current crises, and the university advances to a world-class level in tandem with regional development.
At the event, Inha University announced its vision of becoming a "MULTIVERSITY of Innovation Connecting Incheon and the World from the Heart of Incheon," unveiling a blueprint to transform itself into a global innovation hub that bridges the region and the world.
The vision encompasses four key strategies: nurturing future talent to lead Incheon's strategic industries; promoting university specialization-driven collaboration among local governments, industries, and academia; innovating lifelong education linked to regional employment; and implementing leading projects focused on solving local issues.

Inha University plans to continue its tradition of incorporating the character "仁 (In)" from Incheon into its name by spearheading various innovation initiatives for Incheon's development, including talent cultivation, collaboration among local governments, industries, and academia, lifelong education, and solutions to community challenges. The university aims to establish a systematic educational system spanning from elementary school to graduate school and to foster customized talent tailored to the needs of the industrial field.
Inha University expects that these well-trained individuals will drive future economic and industrial growth in Incheon, creating a virtuous cycle in which both the region and the university grow together. To this end, the university announced plans to collaborate with Incheon's core strategic industries, such as bio and logistics, to revitalize research and development centered on industrial complex collaboration centers and to support breakthrough technological innovation for Incheon-based companies.
By establishing a lifelong education system, Inha University intends to open its doors widely so that not only its own students but also students from consortium universities, Incheon Global Campus, and even employees and citizens in the Incheon area can benefit from university-level education.
During the event, Inha University also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education to promote regional educational development and nurture future talent. Under this agreement, both parties will work together to establish a ladder-type talent cultivation system spanning elementary, middle, and high schools, universities, graduate schools, and industry; to cooperate on early career planning between secondary schools and universities; to strengthen job experience programs based on new industries; and to expand industry-academia-linked career education platforms.
Cho Myoungwoo, President of Inha University and Chair of the Incheon RISE Committee, stated, "I-RISE will drive not only Inha University's initiatives but also the success of Incheon's overall RISE program," adding, "We will strive to make this a leading example of mutual growth between universities and regions across the nation, beyond just Incheon."
