"Korea and Uzbekistan Shape the Future of Energy Together"... 'Economic Cooperation Forum' Held

Signing of MOU for K-Energy Expansion Cooperation

On July 5 at 9:30 a.m. (1:30 p.m. Korean time), Ulsan City, in collaboration with Korea East-West Power, KOTRA, and the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, held the 'Korea-Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Forum' at the Hilton Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.


This forum was organized to strengthen cooperation between Korea and Uzbekistan in the field of clean energy.


In particular, the event was attended by a large number of government and business representatives from both countries, including Mayor Kim Dukyum and Mirzamakhmudov Jurabek, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan. It served as an opportunity for networking, information sharing, and discussions on practical business cooperation measures.


The main agenda included: ▲ keynote speeches ▲ signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for K-Energy expansion cooperation ▲ an economic outlook presentation by the Uzbekistan Investment Promotion Agency ▲ and an introduction of industrial development strategies by the Ministry of Energy.


Notably, the signing of the MOU involved major institutions and companies from both countries, including Ulsan City, the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, Korea East-West Power, Doosan Enerbility, Hyundai Engineering, LG Energy Solution, LS Electric, and Samsung C&T.


The participating organizations agreed to link resources and infrastructure for the joint promotion of sustainable clean energy projects, and pledged technological and financial cooperation.


During the forum, the Uzbek side introduced its national economic development strategy and vision for the energy industry, emphasizing its expectations for and willingness to cooperate with Korean energy companies.


An official from Ulsan City stated, "We hope this forum will serve as a catalyst for establishing practical cooperation networks between the policy authorities and energy companies of both countries," adding, "Ulsan City will provide full support to ensure the successful implementation of clean energy projects."
