Kyungpook National University Students Volunteer to Take Longevity Portraits of Merit Recipients... "We Captured Our Gratitude with the Camera"

"We will remember the smiles of our elders."

Young university students picked up their cameras. As part of Patriots and Veterans Month, a longevity portrait volunteer service honoring those who devoted their lives to the country quietly moved many hearts.

The Daegu Regional Veterans Office (Director Kim Jongsul) recently held a longevity portrait volunteer event for national merit recipients at the Daegu Veterans Nursing Home, in collaboration with the Kyungpook National University photography club "Sahwohoe" volunteer team.

This volunteer activity was organized to allow the younger generation to express their respect and gratitude to national merit recipients during Patriots and Veterans Month. More than 20 Kyungpook National University students from Sahwohoe, including team leader Jin Hyeonji, busily prepared the site from early morning by setting up photography equipment, checking lighting, and arranging outfits.

Despite the hot weather, the students greeted each merit recipient warmly and carefully pressed the camera shutter. The elders straightened their clothes and looked into the lens with bright smiles, following the students' guidance.

The participating students said, "Taking longevity portraits was more than just taking a photo; it was a meaningful experience that allowed us to feel genuine respect for the national merit recipients. It was a valuable occasion where warm communication between generations took place."

An official from the Daegu Regional Veterans Office said, "This event served as a good example of bridging the younger generation and national merit recipients. We will continue to promote veterans' culture activities that encourage participation across various generations."
