Simmons Holds 90% Market Share in Korea's Luxury Hotel Bed Segment
Functional Pillows and Comforters Gain Popularity as 'Hotel Bedroom Sets'
An increasing number of people are seeking to recharge by escaping their busy and exhausting daily routines and enjoying a 'hotel staycation' at luxury hotels. In response, luxury hotels in Korea are enhancing rest-focused services by improving sleep environments and offering a variety of wellness programs. At the same time, as more consumers try to recreate the comfort experienced at hotels in their own homes, demand for decorating bedrooms in the style of luxury hotels is rising. As a result, interest in not only mattresses but also premium bedding is growing.
According to industry sources on July 4, Simmons holds approximately 90% market share in the luxury hotel bed market in Korea. Over the past five years, newly opened (including renovated) hotels such as Conrad Seoul, Haevichi Resort Jeju, Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, Parnas Hotel Jeju, Grand Josun Jeju and Busan, Fairmont Ambassador Seoul, Cassia Sokcho, Daegu Marriott Hotel & Residence, Josun Palace Seoul Gangnam, Lotte Hotel World, Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery, Mondrian Seoul, and Inspire Entertainment Resort have all selected Simmons beds.
Other major luxury hotels such as Four Seasons Hotel, Signiel Seoul and Busan, The Shilla Seoul and Jeju, JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, Paradise City, Grand Walkerhill, and Vista Walkerhill also use Simmons mattresses.
As Simmons solidifies its position in the luxury hotel market, consumer interest in its bedding brand 'Simmons Home' product line is also rising. Products that help create a hotel-style bedroom at home include the Fiber Pocket Spring Pillow, White Collection Loni, and Cooling Goose Duvet.
The Fiber Pocket Spring Pillow is a functional pillow that combines pocket springs and fiber padding. The pocket springs respond delicately to head movements, providing stable support, and the pillow has obtained the 'Ergocert' ergonomic quality certification. The air layer enhances temperature control and breathability, while the 100% cotton cover helps create a soft and hygienic sleep environment.
The White Collection Loni is a bedding product made from 60-count pure cotton. Its curved frill embroidery and white color create a luxurious atmosphere and provide a cozy feeling reminiscent of a luxury hotel bedroom.
The Cooling Goose Duvet is a comforter that combines Hungarian goose down with functional fabric. The outer fabric features NASA-developed 'Tempracron Cooling Dot' technology, which helps regulate body temperature during sleep. The goose down content is over 90%, and its breathability and lightweight feel make it comfortable to use even in summer.
Additionally, the product has earned several certifications that increase consumer trust, including 'DOWNPASS' certification for ethically sourced down that meets animal welfare standards, 'NOMITE' certification proving safety from allergy-causing substances, and the European textile certification 'OEKO-TEX Standard 100.'
