Understanding ADHD: The Role of Parents in Supporting Children

Training Seminar for Practitioners at Metropolitan Saessak Guardian Hospital

Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital announced that it held a training seminar for practitioners at the Metropolitan Child Abuse Dedicated Medical Institution (Metropolitan Saessak Guardian Hospital) on July 3.

This training was co-hosted by the hospital's Child Protection Committee, the Sejong City Child Protection Agency, and Yonsei Namu Mental Health Clinic, with 110 practitioners involved in child-related work in the Sejong region participating.

The seminar began with an introduction to the child abuse response system in the Sejong region by the head of the Sejong City Child Protection Agency. Kim Hyunjin, director of Yonsei Namu Mental Health Clinic, which was designated as Sejong's first local Saessak Guardian Hospital, gave a detailed explanation on understanding Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, as well as guidance on parental involvement and daily life management strategies.

Lee Byungkook, chair of the Child Protection Committee and professor of pediatrics at Sejong Chungnam National University Hospital, stated, "Child abuse is a serious issue that undermines the safety net of our society and hinders the happy growth of children," adding, "I hope this training will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the capabilities needed to protect and support our children."

Prior to the training, plaques of appreciation were presented to the head of the Child Protection Agency and Director Kim in recognition of their dedicated efforts to prevent child abuse and their contributions to promoting children's rights.
