Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Yang Suhyun) held the 'GTX-C Yangju Station Stop Preliminary Feasibility Study Kick-off Meeting' on the morning of the 3rd at the situation room on the 2nd floor of City Hall, officially beginning a full-scale review to realize a stop at Yangju Station.

The 'GTX-C Yangju Station Stop Preliminary Feasibility Study Kick-off Meeting' was organized to scientifically analyze the necessity and feasibility of adding a stop at Yangju Station in preparation for the opening of the GTX-C line, and to develop strategies to attract a stop at the station.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Yang Suhyun, the Director of Urban Housing, the Director of Balanced Development, and other relevant department heads of Yangju City, as well as Professor Kim Sigon of Seoul National University of Science and Technology, who will conduct the study, and representatives from ISAN Co., Ltd.
This study will be jointly conducted by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Seoul National University of Science and Technology and ISAN Co., Ltd., and will be carried out over one year until June 2026.
The main tasks include collecting and analyzing basic data for a GTX-C Yangju Station stop, forecasting future transportation demand, conducting technical reviews, analyzing economic and financial feasibility, evaluating policy aspects and expected effects, reviewing the impact on existing lines, and establishing strategies for securing the stop.
In his remarks, Mayor Yang Suhyun stated, "When the GTX-C line opens, accessibility to the Seoul metropolitan area will be dramatically improved, which is expected to bring significant changes to the lives of our citizens." He added, "In line with this, our city must establish the foundation for balanced development and successful station area development by securing a stop at Yangju Station."
He continued, "Yangju City has continuously submitted proposals to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the private operator GTX-C Co., Ltd. regarding the necessity of adding a stop at Yangju Station." He emphasized, "I hope this study will go beyond simple analysis and present practical strategies that can actually secure a stop at the station."
Based on the results of the study, Yangju City plans to continue its multi-faceted efforts and policy proposals to realize a stop at Yangju Station on the GTX-C line.
