PonyLink Visits Pony.ai Guangzhou Hub with National Assembly Land and Transport Committee Members

PonyLink announced on July 3 that, on July 1, members of the National Assembly's Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee and CEO Nam Kyungpil visited the R&D center of autonomous driving company Pony.ai.

A company representative explained, "The purpose of the visit was to develop strategies for the advancement of the domestic autonomous driving industry by understanding the current state of autonomous driving technology and regulations in China." The representative added, "We reviewed the global robotaxi operations of Pony.ai, experienced a ride in an unmanned robotaxi, and confirmed PonyLink's introduction, strategies, and potential areas for cooperation."

Nam Kyungpil, CEO of PonyLink, stated, "By localizing the autonomous driving technology of Pony.ai, which has accumulated commercialization experience in China and the United States, and by cooperating with related domestic companies and institutions, we aim to elevate the level of autonomous driving technology and services in Korea." He added, "We will also collaborate with the existing transportation industry and related companies to pursue an autonomous driving strategy with high social acceptance that enables a win-win outcome for all parties."

PonyLink obtained a temporary operation permit from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December last year and is currently conducting pilot operations of four Level 4 robotaxis in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. In February this year, the company also applied for conformity certification for an additional six vehicles to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. To date, PonyLink has achieved a cumulative accident-free autonomous driving distance of approximately 13,500 kilometers.

From July 9 to 11, at the '2025 Autonomous Driving Mobility Industry Exhibition (AME)' held in Hall C at COEX, PonyLink will unveil its Level 4 autonomous vehicles and Gangnam driving footage for the first time.
