"We Should Consider Resistance Through Judicial Procedures"

Na Kyungwon, a member of the People Power Party, stated that if the confirmation of Prime Minister nominee Kim Minseok passes, the protest sit-in would lose its significance, emphasizing, "We must continue our resistance through other means." Na has been holding an overnight sit-in for the seventh consecutive day, demanding the withdrawal of Kim's nomination.

On July 3, during an appearance on KBS Radio's "Jeongyeok Sisa," Na said, "In practical terms, the protest sit-in at the Rotender Hall would no longer have any meaning," expressing this view.

Regarding criticism from some within the ruling bloc, who labeled her protest a "well-being sit-in" or a "summer vacation sit-in," Na responded, "Ultimately, this is an attack on the messenger to obscure the message," and added, "I do not care." She continued, "There are various ways to protest through a sit-in," and explained, "At the very least, I have been continuously sitting in the Rotender Hall and sleeping here, and I think I have managed to get about three hours of sleep a day."

She remarked, "Although it is unfortunate that only the 'well-being sit-in' aspect has been highlighted, there are citizens who have wondered why I am holding this sit-in and have looked into it," adding, "In that sense, I believe the public may have come to understand, at least to some extent, how problematic Kim Minseok is and the importance of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee in the National Assembly."

Na stressed, "In this personnel verification, Kim Minseok is now facing not only issues of integrity but also various criminal allegations," and continued, "We need to examine whether there are violations of the Political Funds Act or instances of bribery. At the very least, he claimed to have paid gift taxes himself, but there is currently no evidence of such payment. If so, there could also be tax evasion, so we should consider pursuing legal action through criminal and judicial procedures."
