Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center Officially Launches Infectious Disease Disaster Response Team on July 3

On July 3, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center held a ceremony at the main auditorium of Anseong Hospital to declare the launch of the Infectious Disease Disaster Response Team, announcing a new beginning for proactive and systematic responses to infectious disease crises.

This declaration ceremony was organized to further strengthen the nationwide response system to protect the lives and health of Gyeonggi Province residents, amid repeated national public health crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Infectious Disease Disaster Response Team will operate based on the four core principles of GPMC: community protection (Guard), protection of vulnerable groups (Protect), rapid mobilization of medical resources (Mobilize), and collaboration between local and central authorities (Collaborate).

In his commemorative speech, Lee Pilsoo, director of Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center, stated, "The launch of the Infectious Disease Disaster Response Team marks an important first step in fulfilling one of the key pledges I made to the residents of the province upon taking office," and added, "As a public medical institution, we will further strengthen our infectious disease response capabilities and prioritize the safety and health of Gyeonggi Province residents above all else."

Previously, in February, Gyeonggi Provincial Medical Center held a workshop on establishing a constant infectious disease response system, with participation from the headquarters and infection control offices of its six hospitals, to discuss specific measures for strengthening collaboration and response capabilities among hospitals.
