According to the county on July 3, this special monitoring and crackdown have been organized to prevent environmental pollution of public water bodies and the occurrence of algal blooms in advance, especially due to illegal activities such as unauthorized discharge of pollutants during periods of heavy rainfall in the summer.
The county plans to focus its monitoring and crackdowns on areas vulnerable to water pollution, such as water sources and rivers, as well as major workplaces that discharge environmental pollutants.
In particular, during periods when illegal discharge of pollutants is a concern, such as heavy rainfall and the vacation season, the county will strengthen monitoring and patrols. For intentional unauthorized discharges, special crackdowns will be conducted, and patrols will be carried out even more thoroughly.
If minor violations are found as a result of the crackdowns, guidance will be provided on site. However, for workplaces that illegally discharge wastewater, environmental special judicial police officers will directly investigate and refer the cases to the prosecution, taking strong legal action.
A county official stated, "We will do our utmost to prevent water pollution by strengthening monitoring of unauthorized wastewater discharges during the rainy season," and added, "We ask that workplaces discharging environmental pollutants thoroughly manage their discharge and prevention facilities."
