Singer Andy Appointed as New Ambassador for Green Umbrella

Green Umbrella, a child welfare organization chaired by Hwang Youngki, announced on the 3rd that singer Andy has been appointed as its new ambassador.

Green Umbrella explained that the appointment was made to raise awareness in society about the realities faced by young people preparing for independence and the need for support, as well as to encourage public understanding and participation in mid- to large-scale donations. Andy, who has consistently practiced sharing, will work together with Green Umbrella in these efforts.

Andy debuted in 1998 as a member of the six-member group Shinhwa, which, now in its 27th year, is recognized as South Korea's longest-running idol group. He is widely loved across generations for his sincere and dedicated image.

In addition, Andy has quietly continued charitable activities to help those in need. In 2024, he joined the "Green Noble Club," a group of major donors at Green Umbrella, to support children requiring assistance.

Going forward, Andy will participate in mentoring and talent donation volunteering for young people preparing for independence, take part in children's rights campaigns, and promote the "Green Leader Club," Green Umbrella's mid- to large-scale donor group.

Andy stated, "I have always been interested in helping children, so I am honored to join Green Umbrella's efforts as an ambassador to create a world where children are happy. I will continue to offer unwavering support and encouragement through various activities so that children can grow up happily."

Green Umbrella, together with outstanding ambassadors from various fields and 580,000 donors, will continue to support children so they can overcome real-world barriers and pursue their dreams."
