First Application of Next-Generation "STLA Medium" Platform
Combined Engine and Electric Motor Output of Up to 145 Horsepower
Peugeot announced on July 3 that it unveiled and began sales of the "All New 3008 Smart Hybrid (3008)" at "Candy Seongsu" in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. The third-generation 3008, which has undergone a complete redesign for the first time in eight years, is an urban compact SUV and a strategic model aimed at expanding Peugeot's presence in the Korean market.
Since its global debut in 2008, the 3008 has sold over 1.4 million units as of the second-generation model in 2016. In Korea, since the launch of the diesel model in 2010, it has accounted for approximately 27% of Peugeot's total cumulative sales in the country.
The 3008 is the first model to feature Stellantis' next-generation electrification platform, "STLA Medium," embodying Peugeot's innovations in design, space, powertrain, and technology. Within just six months of its European launch, it secured over 100,000 contracts, demonstrating both its market appeal and product competitiveness.
All trims come standard with LED headlamps. The GT trim introduces new features such as "Pixel LED Headlamps," which automatically adjust the direction of the light according to surrounding traffic conditions without dazzling other drivers, and "3D LED Taillamps," enhancing both driving convenience and aesthetic refinement.
Thanks to features like the "Floating Spoiler" and "Cat's Ear," the 3008 achieves an exceptional drag coefficient of 0.28 Cd for an SUV.
The "Panoramic i-Cockpit" is applied for the first time, maximizing driver immersion and usability. The GT trim is the first to feature a floating "21-inch Panoramic Curved Display" atop the dashboard, delivering a futuristic feel and heightened visual immersion. The Allure trim comes standard with a "Dual 10-inch Panoramic Display," which integrates two 10-inch screens into a single panel.
The 3008 offers increased interior space with larger dimensions (length 4,545mm, width 1,895mm, height 1,650mm, wheelbase 2,730mm). The trunk provides 588 liters of cargo space as standard, and up to 1,663 liters when the rear seats are folded in a 40:20:40 split.
Equipped with a 48V Smart Hybrid system, the 3008 can operate in electric mode for about 50% of total driving time in urban environments. This system, consisting of a 1.2-liter PureTech gasoline engine, a hybrid-exclusive 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 48V battery, features an integrated electric motor within the transmission, enabling electric mode during engine start, take-off, and low-speed driving.
The combined output of the engine and electric motor reaches a maximum of 145 horsepower. With a combined fuel efficiency of 14.6 km/L and CO2 emissions of 110g/km, the 3008 has received Korea's Type 2 low-emission vehicle certification, making it eligible for discounts on public parking and congestion charges.
Official sales will begin on July 11. The Allure trim is priced at 44,900,000 KRW, and the GT trim at 49,900,000 KRW. With the individual consumption tax reduction, the Allure is available for 44,251,000 KRW and the GT for 49,163,000 KRW.
Bangsil Stellantis Korea CEO stated, "The All New 3008 Smart Hybrid, with its sophisticated design, outstanding product features, and competitive pricing, will satisfy the diverse preferences of discerning Korean customers who value both luxury and practicality. It is set to bring a new wave to the imported compact SUV market in Korea."
