Yongin Mir Stadium, a comprehensive sports facility located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, is emerging as a new hub for football. The stadium is scheduled to serve as the home ground for the citizen professional football club "Yongin FC" (tentative name), which will participate in K League 2 next year. With all matches of the men's national football team participating in the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Championship (East Asian Cup) set to be held here, the stadium's recognition is expected to rise.

This tournament is an inter-national competition for East Asian countries, organized by the EAFF and held every two years. This year, the men's football tournament features four countries: South Korea, Japan, China, and Hong Kong. All six matches will take place at Yongin Mir Stadium from the 7th to the 15th. The women's football matches, featuring South Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan, will be held in Suwon and Hwaseong.

The South Korean national team will play the opening match against China on the 7th, followed by matches against Hong Kong on the 11th and Japan on the 15th. Tickets for the matches can be purchased through "PlayKFA," the official platform of the Korea Football Association.

The city plans to minimize traffic congestion during the tournament by adjusting the intervals of light rail and city buses and operating the city hall parking lot near the stadium as a temporary parking area.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "The city will make thorough preparations to ensure the successful operation of the tournament," adding, "We will do our utmost to establish safety and traffic measures for spectators."
