The Korean Institute of Electrical and Electronic Materials conference is a leading domestic academic event for sharing research achievements in the field of electrical and electronic materials. Every year, the conference hosts a Capstone Design Competition to evaluate undergraduate students' industry-academia cooperation and practical skills, as well as an undergraduate competition to assess their research capabilities.

In the Capstone Design Competition, which evaluates Korea Polytechnic University undergraduate students' industry-academia cooperation and practical skills, one team (Lee Kyungmin, So Minseo, Lee Jamyeong, Jang Seongwoo, Jo Seho) won the Grand Prize, one team (Lee Yoonsang, Park Sojeong, Chae Yunwoo) won the Excellence Award, and one team (An Chihyung, Hong Hyeongdon, Pyeon Seunghun, Lee Siyoung, Kim Seungwoo) received the Merit Award. Each team was awarded a certificate and a cash prize.

In the undergraduate competition, which evaluates Korea Polytechnic University undergraduate students' research capabilities, one team (Park Haebin, Moon Soyeong, Hong Jeongwoo, Lee Taejun) won the Excellence Award, and four teams (Kim Daehyun, Kim Seungyoung, Kim Hakgyun, Woo Heeyoon / Lee Jamyeong, Lee Kyungmin, So Minseo, Jang Seongwoo, Jo Seho / Park Junhyeong, Jo Jeongbin, Yoo Jiseung, Tak Seyoun, Lee Yoonji / Lee Jihui, An Seongjae, Jo Ingi, Song Minjong) received the Merit Award. The winning teams were given certificates and the opportunity to submit papers to domestic academic journals.

As a special session at the conference, Korea Polytechnic University and Kongju National University (hereafter Kongju National University) co-hosted an undergraduate competition for semiconductor-specialized universities. About 100 students from both universities participated, presenting projects on technology topics related to the semiconductor industry. The participating teams were evaluated comprehensively on creativity, technical skills, and practicality. Among the 24 teams that advanced to the finals, two teams received the Grand Prize, seven teams received the Excellence Award, and fifteen teams received the Merit Award.

The participation of undergraduate students from the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Korea Polytechnic University in the conference was made possible through support from the "Advanced Industry Semiconductor Specialized University Support Project," organized by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. This support provided outstanding undergraduate students not only with opportunities to present at competitions but also to engage in academic exchange with students from other universities.

An Seungeon, Head of the Semiconductor Talent Cultivation Project Group (Dean of the Department of Semiconductor Engineering), said, "This competition was a meaningful occasion to directly witness the outstanding creativity and technical skills of university students who will lead the future of the semiconductor industry," and added, "We plan to continue contributing to the cultivation of talent that will lead the future of the semiconductor industry through such programs."
