Since last month, the association has toured eight regional councils nationwide (Southern Gyeonggi, Eastern Gyeonggi, Northern Gyeonggi, Yeongnam, Honam, Chungcheong, Gangwon, and Jeju) to discuss current issues related to golf courses. Discussions focused on the potential impact of partial amendments to the Act on Installation and Use of Sports Facilities (the Sports Facilities Act) on the golf course industry, as well as possible response strategies. In particular, concerns were raised about potential problems if golf courses are included as women-only sports facilities, and there was consensus that a coordinated response from the association is necessary.
The association also shared legal and related information that golf course managers need to know, including the obligation to pay royalties under copyright law when using music in clubhouses, parking lots, and rest areas within golf courses. In addition, legal reviews were conducted on whether black boxes or caddie body cams can be installed in carts to ensure the safety of both customers and employees at golf courses. The association also discussed standards for handling green fees in the event of voluntary withdrawal during play.
