Large-scale Apartment Supply in Ssangbuk, Gyuram, and Oe-ri
Expected to Restore Urban Functions and Attract Population Inflow
Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province has resumed the supply of multi-family housing, which had been suspended since 2018, taking swift action to stabilize the local housing market. Large-scale apartment complexes totaling more than 1,600 units are scheduled to be supplied sequentially, mainly in Buyeo-eup and Gyuram-myeon, signaling the long-standing supply gap is finally being addressed.
According to the county on July 3, the 'Ssangbuk Gold Class' apartment complex, developed by Bogwang SK Construction, will be built in the Ssangbuk-ri area of Buyeo-eup. This complex will consist of 413 units in three types?82㎡, 84㎡, and 114㎡ of exclusive area?across one basement level and eight above-ground floors. Full-scale sales will begin in July with the opening of a model home.
The complex boasts an excellent location, with Buyeo Elementary School, Buyeo County Office, the intercity bus terminal, and a public health center nearby, providing strong educational, administrative, and transportation infrastructure. High interest is expected from end-users accustomed to urban living.
In addition, in the Oe-ri area of Gyuram-myeon, an apartment complex with 499 units, featuring five basement levels and 20 above-ground floors and a total exclusive area of 84,124㎡, will be developed. Approval for the housing construction project plan was granted in May, and construction is expected to begin within the year at the earliest.
Furthermore, the 'Buyeo Gyuram District Urban Development Project' is underway in the Gyuram-ri area of Gyuram-myeon. A total of 720 branded high-rise apartment units (517 units of 84㎡ and 203 units of 101㎡) are planned. According to the designation and development plan announcement by South Chungcheong Province, move-in is targeted for December 2027.
The Gyuram area is notable for population inflow and expansion of living zones within Buyeo County, and it is expected to greatly contribute to dispersing housing demand and promoting balanced urban development.
Park Junghyun, the county governor, stated, "This large-scale supply of multi-family housing will not only resolve housing insecurity but also mark a major turning point in creating a pleasant and sustainable residential environment. We will take the lead in improving the quality of life for residents through planned urban development and stable housing policies."
This new apartment supply is expected to have a variety of positive ripple effects, including revitalizing the local economy, attracting younger generations, and reorganizing urban functions.
In particular, it is analyzed that it will play a significant role in resolving the structural issues that have long plagued the Buyeo housing market due to the lack of supply.
