EMRO, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based supply chain management software company, is leading procurement innovation with Agentic AI.
On July 3, EMRO announced that it has integrated various AI agent functions into its procurement solution. These AI agents, based on large language models (LLMs) optimized for each client environment, perform tasks such as calling APIs and utilizing tools required for procurement operations, as well as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) searches based on procurement-related data and documents.
By internalizing Model Context Protocol (MCP) functionalities, which are used for AI to access various internal and external resources or provide information to external systems, EMRO enables its AI agents to continually expand their access to and utilization of a wide range of information.
Corporate procurement managers can easily and quickly handle a variety of procurement tasks by using chatbots to ask questions in natural language or by executing AI agents via action buttons and pop-up windows within the procurement system. These tasks include searching for suppliers, checking procurement process guides, navigating menus within the procurement system, and viewing records of similar orders.
The efficiency and accuracy of procurement operations have been improved. Regardless of each user's proficiency, accessibility to and utilization of the procurement system are also expected to increase significantly. Ultimately, by providing data-driven insights for more precise procurement decision-making, these advancements are expected to strengthen companies' supply chain competitiveness.
EMRO has already supplied these AI agent features specialized for procurement to the next-generation procurement system project of the largest IT company in Korea. The company is also rapidly securing use cases for Agentic AI by conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) projects with leading domestic plant companies, utilizing AI agents for tasks such as searching for records of similar orders and comparative analysis of quotations.
An EMRO representative stated, "In order to proactively respond to increasingly complex supply chain risks, advancing procurement operations with Agentic AI is not a choice but a necessity." The representative added, "By integrating a variety of AI agent functions into our procurement solution, EMRO will present a new paradigm for supply chain management to our corporate clients."
