Daesang Group Launches "Daesang Red Challenge" Blood Donation Campaign

Daesang Group Leads the Way in Expanding the Culture of Blood Donation with Participation from All Affiliates

Daesang Group announced on July 3 that it will launch the blood donation campaign "2025 Daesang Red Challenge RESPECT YOUR RED!" throughout July, with participation from employees across all affiliates as well as the general public, to help stabilize blood supply during the summer.

Now in its 20th year, the "Daesang Red Challenge" is a blood donation campaign that Daesang Group has been conducting in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross since 2006. The campaign began with the "Donate Blood Before Vacation" initiative targeting group employees, and since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, it has expanded its scope to include the general public, leading efforts to promote a culture of blood donation.


This year’s campaign slogan, "RESPECT YOUR RED!", conveys respect for the courage of blood donors and the value of respecting life, as demonstrated through their actions. The "Red" in the slogan is a double entendre, symbolizing both blood and the warm-hearted respect for life. The campaign aims to spread the noble value of blood donation beyond simple participation, and to raise awareness of the importance of respecting life through a variety of activities.


To this end, Daesang Group will operate blood donation buses in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross at Daesang headquarters and other group affiliate locations, encouraging voluntary participation from employees. In addition, a "Blood Donation Certificate Raffle Event" will be held for employees. Prizes to be awarded through the raffle include: ▲ 1 gold coin (1 winner), ▲ half a gold coin (2 winners), ▲ beef gift sets (20 winners), ▲ chicken voucher (20 winners), ▲ 1 box of Miwon Mat Salt Popcorn (20 winners), and ▲ coffee vouchers (30 winners). Furthermore, all employees who donate blood for the first time in their lives will receive a beef gift set.


A nationwide event open to everyone will also be held via social networking services (SNS). Participants can follow Daesang Group’s social contribution Instagram account, post a photo of themselves donating blood along with the phrase "Blood donation is OOO." and three required hashtags (#DaesangRedChallenge #DaesangGroup #BloodDonationCampaign) on their personal account, and then either apply through the promotion board on the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters website or leave a comment with a link to their SNS post.


Kim Kyungsook, Head of ESG Management at Daesang, said, "Through this campaign, we hope more people will once again recognize the importance of blood donation, and that they will make the courageous choice to participate, thereby putting the value of respecting life into practice."
