Seoul Milk Cooperative Launches Plant-Based Yogurt 'Cocogurt'

96.3% Coconut Milk Instead of Dairy
Extended Shelf Life of Up to 12 Months

On July 3, Seoul Milk Cooperative announced the launch of its plant-based yogurt 'Cocogurt' in response to the growing vegan trend.


The new product, 'Cocogurt,' is a premium plant-based yogurt made with coconut milk instead of dairy. It features the rich flavor of tropical fruits that highlights the sweetness and nuttiness of coconut. With a coconut milk content of 96.3%, it delivers a pronounced coconut taste. It also contains vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. With a shelf life of up to 12 months, the product is expected to appeal to global consumers interested in K-food through exports.

Recently, the vegan trend has been rapidly rising worldwide, leading to an increase in consumers seeking dairy alternatives. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, a leading global research platform, the global alternative food market is projected to expand to approximately 215 trillion won by 2030. In particular, the plant-based protein and alternative dairy markets are expected to grow rapidly.


Kim Jungpyo, Head of the Fermented Dairy Marketing Team at Seoul Milk Cooperative, stated, "With growing global interest in vegan foods, we are launching a plant-based yogurt as a dairy alternative using coconut milk instead of regular milk." He added, "We will continue to introduce differentiated new products that reflect rapidly changing consumer trends, accelerating our efforts not only in the domestic market but also in the global market."
