Checking the Progress of Planned Projects, Including Current Issues and Pledged Initiatives
Hapcheon County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on July 3 that it held the first regular assembly of the fourth year of the 8th popularly elected administration with its staff in the main conference room of the county office.
The regular assembly began with the presentation of awards to individuals and organizations who contributed to the county administration, followed by a sharing of key achievements from the past three years under the 8th administration. There was also a call for thorough execution of current and upcoming tasks.
Major achievements over the past three years of the 8th administration include attracting the Dumusan pumped-storage power plant, the inscription of the Hapcheon Okcheon Ancient Tombs on the UNESCO World Heritage list, and the establishment of a youth cluster foundation, including the construction of a total of 90 units of Happy Housing for young newlyweds.
In addition, the county was selected for the 2025 Public Land Reserve Project, and secured approximately 140 billion won in funding through Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs-led competitive projects, such as the Rural Agreement and rural space improvement initiatives.
Furthermore, in the field of disaster prevention projects for 2025, the county secured 42.2 billion won in national and provincial funding for six districts, and laid the groundwork to become a sports-centered city by attracting nationwide sports competitions.
Going forward, the county plans to actively pursue future growth engine projects such as attracting the Odosan pumped-storage power plant and developing a new city around Hapcheon Station. It also aims to ensure stable housing for young people and establish a foundation for future agriculture by creating a Youth Vitality Town, while promoting a hopeful county administration by expanding tourism and sports infrastructure accessible to all.
In his address, County Governor Kim Yooncheol stated, "With only one year remaining in the 8th popularly elected administration, it is time for a final review of major county issues and pledged projects." He urged staff to "thoroughly check the progress of planned projects, including current issues and pledges, and closely examine countermeasures and future plans for projects that are delayed or facing problems."
