Seeking Cooperation in Joint Promotion and Ticket Sales

Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province (Mayor Chung Kimyung) announced on July 2 that it had signed a business agreement on July 1 with the Gwangju Jeonnam branch of the Korea AIDS Prevention Federation to successfully host the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo.
Through this agreement, the two organizations have established a foundation for joint promotion of the Islands Expo, cooperation in ticket sales, and expanding citizen participation.
Son Cheolmun, head of the Gwangju Jeonnam branch of the Korea AIDS Prevention Federation, said, "I hope the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo will be a meaningful event not only for local residents but also for all citizens," adding, "Our branch will also do our part, however small, and work closely together."
Mayor Chung Kimyung stated, "We plan to create a citizen-centered expo based on collaboration with various organizations in the region," and expressed hope that "this agreement will serve as a positive driving force for local publicity and building consensus."
Meanwhile, at the main venue of the 2026 Yeosu World Islands Expo, Dolsan Jinmo District, visitors will be able to experience eight exhibition halls, including the 'Islands Theme Hall' and the 'World Islands Restaurant,' as well as a themed zone under the title 'Islands of the World, Islands of Korea.'
Additionally, at the auxiliary venue, Yeosu World Expo Hall, an international academic event will be held, and in island areas such as Geumodo and Gaedo, various experiential programs and events, including a 'Family Island Camp,' are planned.
