Topped U.S. Beer Sales by Revenue Last Year
First Introduction in the Domestic Retail Industry

Emart announced on July 3 that it will be the first in the domestic retail industry to exclusively sell "Modelo Especial," the top-selling beer in the United States.
Modelo Especial is a premium lager that represents Mexico. It is characterized by its deep golden color reminiscent of the golden sun and its rich foam. The beer features a subtle hop aroma, a savory malt flavor, and a refreshing, clean finish that pairs well with any food. Last year, it ranked number one in beer sales in the U.S. market based on sales revenue.
Emart explained that it decided to introduce Modelo after recognizing that alcoholic beverages have become a matter of personal taste in Korea, with various categories such as wine, whiskey, and highballs gaining popularity in the domestic liquor market.
The price is 11,000 won for a pack (355ml*6 cans). It will be available at Emart stores nationwide, as well as at Traders and Emart Everyday. Emart will also hold a launch event from July 4 to July 16, offering a 1,000 won discount on each pack when purchasing two packs.
Jung Chanwoo, Emart's beer buyer, stated, "Modelo Especial is a premium lager that Emart has planned for a long time and is introducing to Korea for the first time," adding, "We will continue to offer customers a variety of world beer experiences through advance planning."
