On July 2, Chungcheongnam-do held the "8th Chungcheongnam-do Policy Advisory Committee 2025 Regular Meeting" at the main conference room of the provincial office, where major provincial issues and policy directions were shared.
The meeting was attended by Governor Kim Taeheum, related provincial officials, and more than 150 advisory committee members. The agenda included a report on committee activities, a special lecture, and suggestions and answers regarding major provincial issues.
During the meeting, the committee's activities were reviewed through a report on the status of the 8th committee. A special lecture was held on the theme of "Achievements and Directions of the Provincial Administration in the Fourth Year of the 8th Local Government Term," providing an opportunity to deepen understanding of the provincial administration.
Next, a Q&A session was held in which the governor responded to the advisory committee members' suggestions on provincial issues, facilitating communication and the exchange of diverse opinions.
The 8th Policy Advisory Committee officially launched on April 2 with a total of 150 members across 13 subcommittees. Over the next two years, it will provide policy recommendations and advice on major provincial issues.
Through this regular meeting, the province plans to support the committee so that it can make substantial and continuous policy contributions as a true partner in provincial administration, beyond simply serving as an advisory body. The province will also strengthen communication and cooperation.
Governor Kim stated, "Despite the government's fiscal tightening, we have entered an era of a record-high 11 trillion won in national funding, and our investment attraction to date has reached 35.6894 trillion won, more than double the four-year performance of the 7th local government term." He added, "We are resolving long-neglected issues such as Seosan Airport and the Chungnam National University Naepo Campus, and we have also achieved significant results in attracting major national projects such as inorganic light-emitting displays and pumped-storage hydroelectric power."
He continued, "I am confident that the province has achieved remarkable growth through dynamic administration. We are focusing our capabilities on five major tasks: agricultural and rural structural reform, leading the carbon-neutral economy, Bay Valley and balanced development, and countermeasures against low birth rates. As we prepare for the future, I hope the committee will continue to provide its full support so that Chungcheongnam-do can take another leap forward."
