"Policies for the Remaining Year:
'Utmost Effort,' 'Optimal,' and 'Top Priority'"
"There are few local governments with as bright a future as Uiryeong. Over the past three years, Uiryeong has truly shined through dynamic changes."
On July 1, Oh Taewan, Governor of Uiryeong County in South Gyeongsang Province, held the July regular staff meeting in the county office's main conference room to mark the third anniversary of the 8th popularly elected administration.

Governor Oh summarized the achievements so far with three keywords: "first," "largest," and "best." He also stated that future policies would be pursued under the directions of "utmost effort," "optimal," and "top priority."
Under the keyword "first," Uiryeong entered the era of a 500 billion won budget for the first time and set a record by securing 100 billion won in public contest projects for two consecutive years. The memorial service for the victims of the Gungnyu shooting incident was held for the first time in 42 years, and last year, the 4.26 Memorial Park was finally established.
As for the "best" achievements, Uiryeong ranked first in happiness and welfare satisfaction in a social survey conducted by South Gyeongsang Province. In a local residents' needs survey, the county showed a remarkable indicator by ranking highest in "quality of life." In the national evaluation of pledges fulfilled by local government heads, Uiryeong received the highest grade.
The "largest" achievements include a record-high number of young return-to-farm residents moving in, as well as attracting the largest single-company investment in the county's history. The Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival saw a record 240,000 visitors to Uiryeong.
For the coming year, the focus will be on achieving results that surpass previous accomplishments, attracting projects that drive new changes, and stabilizing the livelihoods of residents.
Governor Oh pledged to do his utmost to surpass 1,000 young return-to-farm households, reach a living population of 2.5 million, attract 300,000 visitors to the Rich Rich Festival, achieve the highest grade in the Manifesto Pledge Assessment for two consecutive years, and attain the top grade in integrity.

As part of the "optimal" strategy, he emphasized plans to achieve optimal policy outcomes by considering the changing policy environment and effectiveness. These include the construction of the National Dictionary Museum, attracting the Gyeongnam Human Resources Development Institute, opening the Uiryeongeup Expressway era, completing the Seodong Administrative Town and Burim Industrial Complex, and the operation of Toyoae Co., Ltd.
Ultimately, he expressed his commitment to placing the "top priority" value on residents' daily lives, welfare, and safety. He announced plans to strengthen the "On-Site Civil Affairs Task Force" service, which resolves residents' complaints immediately in the field, fully implement the public bus system, expand cash-based welfare support such as the multi-child Healthy Allowance, and enhance residents' safety through the establishment of the Uiryeong Safety Keeper system.
On this day, Governor Oh particularly drew attention by describing Uiryeong's changes with the concept of "three lines and three colors."

Governor Oh explained, "The 'three lines' are 'lines of buses,' 'lines at restaurants,' and 'lines of children's laughter.' These are new scenes that could not be seen in Uiryeong before." He added, "The 'three colors' are the 'night colors' of Uiryeong, which have changed with lights and illumination; the 'complexion' of public officials, which has changed with pride and confidence; and the 'sky blue' of hope, as Uiryeong County opens up new possibilities as a city of hope."
Meanwhile, before the regular meeting, Governor Oh Taewan, Deputy Governor Choi Jinhoe, and senior officials paid their respects at Chungiksa and the Chung Hon Tower, marking the start of the fourth year of the 8th popularly elected administration. After the meeting, they immediately visited the Byeolchunji Village development site in Hanusan Ecological Forest and the Gabeul Senior Citizens' Center, continuing their field-oriented communication activities.
