Heatwave Warning Triggers Heat Illness Case... Yangsan Labor Office Chief Conducts Emergency Construction Site Inspection Kwon Guyoung, head of Yangsan branch office, is visiting a construction site to urgently inspect the compliance with the '5 Major Heatwave Safety Rules'.

At around 11:30 a.m. that day, a worker at this site suddenly collapsed while spraying water. After resting in a nearby shaded area, the worker was transported to the hospital with the help of emergency services and has since recovered his health.

On the same day, the apparent temperature in the Yangsan area reached 35 degrees Celsius and a heatwave warning was in effect. Construction sites, which involve a significant amount of outdoor work, are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, requiring workers to exercise extra caution.

Until the end of September this year, the Yangsan branch office is conducting intensive inspections to ensure compliance with the '5 Major Heatwave Safety Rules' in high-risk industries such as construction and logistics. In addition, the office is cooperating with related organizations such as the fire department and local governments to operate an immediate on-site response system in the event of heat-related illnesses.

After the inspection, Kwon emphasized, "Prevention is most important when it comes to heat-related illnesses," and urged, "Never ignore even minor symptoms, and make sure to drink plenty of cool water and take sufficient rest." He added, "Please double-check that heatwave response rules are being thoroughly followed at the site and actively improve any shortcomings."
