This agreement was established to maintain the section of Bukhansan National Park that connects with the Uijeongbu living area and to ensure that citizens can use the forest trails more safely and comfortably.
Under the agreement, the two organizations have agreed to cooperate for the systematic and continuous management of the national park's forest trails.
Specifically, they will work together on the following: protecting the natural environment, improving user convenience, upgrading facilities and maintaining the environment for local residents, and creating and managing forest trails in the Uijeongbu section.
Based on this agreement, the city will begin full-scale cooperation on forest trail management starting in July, with a focus on sites that have a high level of citizen engagement and impact.
Mayor Donggeun Kim stated, "Through this agreement, I hope that the walking trails in citizens' daily lives will become safer and more dignified spaces," adding, "We will continue to pursue various collaborations to expand green spaces within the city."
