At 9 a.m., Governor Seo opened the fourth year of his term by sharing a commemorative video titled "Gapyeong Possible," which highlighted the achievements of the 8th term and outlined the future direction of county administration, with county employees during the July staff meeting. He then attended the "Gapyeong-eup Residents' Day" event, where he communicated with residents and strengthened community bonds through an awards ceremony and a congratulatory address.
Governor Seo also held a luncheon meeting with the Gapyeong County Veterans' Association, where he expressed gratitude for the sacrifices and dedication of national merit recipients and discussed ways to strengthen official recognition at the county level.
After completing the morning schedule, he conducted on-site inspections of disaster-prone areas during the summer season. He first visited Yongso Waterfall in Dodae-ri, Buk-myeon, a popular water recreation site, where he held a meeting with safety personnel and checked the safety management status of the tourist site.
He then visited, in sequence, the landslide-prone area around Mount Myeongji, the Myeongji Valley recreation area, and the disaster warning and alert facilities in Omokgol, Dodae-ri, where he encouraged water rescue personnel and inspected the on-site response system and facility operations.
At the disaster safety site, Governor Seo stated, "As unpredictable situations such as landslides and flooding are increasing due to climate change, thorough preemptive measures to protect the lives and property of residents are crucial," and emphasized, "In particular, as Gapyeong County has many rivers and waterfalls that attract water recreation, please pay special attention to water safety accidents."
After visiting the disaster safety sites, he held a meeting with the Gapyeong County branch of the restaurant business association, where he communicated with self-employed business owners and discussed measures to revitalize the local economy.
A Gapyeong County official stated, "Gapyeong County has seen remarkable changes over the past three years, including its designation as a border area, the lifting of military facility protection zones, and the expansion of living infrastructure," and added, "In the latter half of the 8th term, we will focus on creating tangible changes that residents can feel and preparing for Gapyeong's next ten years."
