Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Center (Director Lee Changhun) has been selected as a recipient of the "Comprehensive Secondary General Hospital Support Project" promoted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This project was officially launched on July 1, and a total of 19 general hospitals in Busan were included. In Gijang-gun, Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Center was the only institution selected.
The core objective of the "Secondary General Hospital Support Project" is to strengthen the foundation for essential medical services in local communities and to provide intensive support for hospital functions so that they can respond quickly to various medical demands, including emergencies.
Taking this opportunity, Southeast Regional Radiation Medicine Center plans to further strengthen its 24-hour emergency care system and establish a collaborative treatment network with higher-level hospitals, focusing on acute diseases. Through these efforts, a foundation will be established to ensure that local patients can be promptly connected to appropriate treatment institutions according to the severity and nature of their conditions.
This selection was made because the center met all of the government's essential medical criteria, including designation as an emergency medical institution, acute care hospital certification, and the possession of more than 350 surgical treatment items. In addition, the recent opening of a cardiovascular and cerebrovascular center and the introduction of new cancer treatment technologies also contributed positively to the evaluation.
Director Lee Changhun said, "As a key medical institution responsible for the treatment of severe and emergency patients in the Southeast region, including Gijang-gun and Ulju-gun, we will continue to strengthen our essential medical capabilities and build trust that sufficient medical services are available within the local community."
