Special Prosecutor Summons Yoon for Second Interrogation on Rebellion Case
Yoon's Side Says "No Need to Worry About Non-Appearance"
Former President Yoon Sukyeol has agreed to comply with the summons from Special Prosecutor Cho Eunsuk's team, which requested that he appear for questioning at 9:00 a.m. on the 5th. However, Yoon's side stated, "Depending on circumstances on the day, his appearance may be delayed beyond the scheduled time."

On the 2nd, Yoon's legal team announced, "We have decided to comply with the request to appear on the 5th," adding, "It is unlikely that he will arrive exactly at 9:00 a.m., but even if he is 10 to 20 minutes late, he will attend and provide his statement." The legal team stepped back after the special prosecutor maintained its position of not accepting their request to delay the appearance time by one hour.
The legal team emphasized, "Fundamentally, we are not trying to avoid appearing; we intend to actively attend and provide a statement," and added, "There is no need to worry about non-appearance."
Previously, Yoon's side had requested that the special prosecutor postpone the questioning time from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the 5th, but the special prosecutor's team did not accept this request.
Earlier, the Special Prosecutor for Internal Affairs summoned former President Yoon as a suspect on the 28th of last month for an initial in-person investigation, and then requested that he appear again at 9:00 a.m. on the 30th of last month for further questioning. In response, Yoon requested a postponement until after the rebellion trial scheduled for July 3, and the special prosecutor agreed to delay it by one day, issuing a new notice for him to appear at 9:00 a.m. on the 1st of this month.
However, after submitting another written request to postpone his appearance until after July 5, Yoon did not comply with the investigation scheduled for the 1st. The special prosecutor regarded this as a failure to comply with the summons and notified Yoon's side that the appearance date had been rescheduled for 9:00 a.m. on the 5th.
