High-Resolution Aerial Photography and Production
for Sucheon and Jiji Districts
Imsil County in North Jeolla Province announced on July 2 that it will begin full-scale implementation of a cadastral resurvey project utilizing drones, which are unmanned aerial vehicles.
The county, in cooperation with the Korea Land and Geospatial InformatiX Corporation (LX), has used drones to capture and produce high-resolution aerial photographs (orthophotos) for Sucheon and Jiji districts, which are designated as cadastral resurvey project areas for 2025.
Based on these newly captured high-resolution orthophotos, the county plans to analyze land use and the current status of buildings within the project areas. These analyses will be used for land status surveys and boundary determinations. The county expects this approach to significantly improve the accuracy of cadastral resurvey measurements.
In particular, by utilizing drone imagery to quickly and accurately assess land use, the county aims to streamline the conventional status survey process, reduce the manpower and time required for on-site investigations, and contribute to the successful implementation of the cadastral resurvey project.
County Governor Shim Min stated, "Using high-resolution imagery captured by drones makes it easier to identify parcel boundaries, which will be very helpful in facilitating boundary agreement discussions among landowners. We plan to continue actively utilizing drones in future cadastral resurvey projects."
