Active-duty Police Officer Detained and Referred to Prosecutors on Charges of Sexual Relations with a Minor

An active-duty police officer accused of having sexual relations with a minor has been handed over to prosecutors.

On July 2, Seoul Nowon Police Station announced that a sergeant from the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Precinct had been detained and referred to the prosecution on charges of statutory rape of a minor.

The officer in question was arrested at the end of last month on suspicion of engaging in sexual relations with a minor, and on June 26, Nowon Police Station conducted a search and seizure of the officer's affiliated precinct.
