The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is recruiting leading artificial intelligence (AI) companies, universities, and research institutes to move into the 'Gyeonggi AI Innovation Cluster' in 2nd Pangyo until July 24.
This recruitment is part of Gyeonggi Province's initiative to establish the 'Gyeonggi AI Innovation Cluster' as a hub for the AI industry. The aim is to attract companies and universities (or research institutes) with technological capabilities and expertise, thereby strengthening the foundation of the local AI industry ecosystem and creating synergy through industry-academia-research collaboration.
The agency plans to foster 2nd Pangyo as a regional hub for the AI industry through this initiative.
The recruitment targets one leading company in the AI field that has achieved certain results, and one university or research institute capable of technology transfer or joint research.
Eligible AI companies must have achieved annual sales of at least 2 billion KRW or cumulative investment of at least 10 billion KRW last year, and must have at least 15 full-time staff. Universities or research institutes must operate an AI-related department (or center) or have a record of carrying out government projects for technology commercialization, and must have at least 10 full-time staff.

The Gyeonggi AI Innovation Cluster will be established on the 4th floor of the 2nd Pangyo Global Biz Center, covering an area of 420 pyeong. The leading AI company will be provided with an exclusive independent space of 160 square meters (approximately 50 pyeong), while the university or research institute will receive 135 square meters (approximately 40 pyeong). Rent and maintenance fees are free of charge. Community facilities within the cluster, such as open lounges, meeting rooms, and co-working spaces, are also available for unrestricted use.
In addition, tenants can freely use advanced office environments equipped with smart office systems, as well as shared workspaces in six regions (Seongnam, Bucheon, Siheung, Uijeongbu, Hanam) that are being established as part of the Gyeonggi AI Innovation Cluster.
Furthermore, companies moving in can occupy independent office spaces within the 'Gyeonggi AI Innovation Cluster' in 2nd Pangyo for a basic period of three years, with the possibility of extending their stay for up to five years through a review process.
Within one month of signing the occupancy contract, tenants must relocate their headquarters or research institute to Gyeonggi Province, or complete the establishment of a branch office, satellite campus, or register a research institute.
Kim Hyungon, President of the agency, stated, "We expect that the entry of companies, universities, and research institutes with outstanding AI technology and research capabilities into 2nd Pangyo will create an organic network and an innovation foundation among clusters. We look forward to strong interest and participation from companies, universities, and research institutes with excellent technological and research capabilities."
