Starting on July 1, Chungnam Province is hosting an export consultation event over two days, inviting buyers from 11 countries.
The province held the opening ceremony for the '2025 Overseas Office Buyer Invitation Export Consultation' at Sono Belle Cheonan on this day, with more than 500 attendees including Kim Taeheum, Governor of Chungnam Province, Ahn Jonghyuk, Chair of the Planning and Economy Committee of the Provincial Council, overseas buyers, and representatives of local companies.
This consultation event is attended by 110 buyers from 90 companies across 11 countries.
These buyers were invited by seven overseas offices located in India, Vietnam, Indonesia, Germany, Japan, the United States, and China, as well as by overseas trade advisors from four countries: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Australia, and Mexico.
Domestically, 250 small and medium-sized enterprises are participating, representing sectors such as processed agricultural products, fresh foods, processed seafood, automobiles and machinery, cosmetics, and chemical products.
From this day, buyers and domestic companies will hold one-on-one business meetings over two days. In particular, the organizers identified the specific needs of both buyers and domestic companies in advance to enable customized consultations.
Additionally, a dedicated interpreter has been assigned to each buyer, and booths for customs brokers and export specialists have been set up to ensure that export contracts can be concluded quickly and smoothly.
Governor Kim stated, "Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, we have spared no effort in supporting the overseas market expansion budget for small and medium-sized enterprises. As a result, 634 companies have achieved $1.1 billion in export consultations and signed export agreements worth $600 million." He analyzed, "The reason Chungnam maintains the number one trade surplus in the nation is because we have independently established and operated the 'Chungnam-style export support platform,' which includes operating overseas offices and trade advisors in seven countries and aggressively running domestic and international export consultation events."
Last year, companies in the province recorded $9.261 billion in exports and a trade surplus of $5.1461 billion.
