Jungguk Lee was officially inaugurated as the 28th Deputy Governor of Damyang County on July 1. Instead of a separate inauguration ceremony, Deputy Governor Lee began his first official schedule by delivering an inaugural address during the 'July Regular Meeting' held that day.
Deputy Governor Lee, a native of Damyang, began his public service career in 1992 and has since accumulated extensive practical experience in major departments, including Jeollanam-do Provincial Government, Naju City, and the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority.
Most recently, he served as Director of the Natural Disaster Division of Jeollanam-do, where he distinguished himself in disaster response and safety. He has also held key positions such as Head of the Gwangyang Bay Area Development Division, Director of the Safe City Construction Bureau in Naju City, and Director of the Road Management Office of Jeollanam-do.
He previously worked at Damyang County as a dispatched official from 2016 to 2017, and with this appointment as Deputy Governor, he has now returned to his hometown.
Deputy Governor Lee stated, "Returning to my hometown of Damyang as Deputy Governor, I feel a special sense of responsibility. In this role that feels both familiar and new, I will contribute to the development of my hometown by drawing on the practical experience I have accumulated over the years," adding, "I will fulfill my duties with respect for the residents and a humble attitude."
