Major Korean entertainment agencies held a joint audition in Manhattan, New York, to discover the next generation of K-pop stars.


Global Audition Held in New York to Discover the Next Generation of K-pop Stars

This project, named the 'K-Fan Festival,' was an event aimed at discovering global talents aspiring to become K-pop stars. It took place on June 30 (local time) at The Ailey Studios in Manhattan, New York.


For this audition, more than 12 major Korean entertainment agencies, including ADOR, Pledis, and Source Music under HYBE, sent their staff members to serve as judges. They evaluated the potential of applicants from North America. Around 100 teams participated, and those who passed the preliminary round advanced to the finals, where they showcased their singing and dancing abilities on stage.


Prior to the audition, a survival workshop was held on June 29. The event featured a special dance workshop and performance with Taro, a dancer from HolyBang?the winning team of season 1 of the dance survival program 'Street Woman Fighter'?and Shin Ikjoo, an SM dance trainer and choreographer for NCT.


Im Ohyuk, CEO of Better Solution and the organizer of this event, said, "It was a meaningful opportunity for young people around the world who dream of shining on stage like BTS or NewJeans to meet Korean entertainment agencies, the center of K-pop, in New York and test their potential. Based on this event, we are considering holding similar tours in Asia, Europe, and other regions."
