How about enjoying 'pocha' udon at home?
Samjin Fishcake, South Korea's leading fishcake brand led by CEO Park Yongjun, has launched two types of meal kits called 'Skewered Fishcake Pocha Udon,' allowing customers to conveniently enjoy the skewered fishcakes and udon commonly found at street stalls, right at home.
This product was developed based on the popular menu items from 'Samjin Pocha,' a rooftop pocha operated by Samjin Fishcake since last year. It combines Samjin Pocha's main dishes?skewered fishcakes and udon?into one product, so consumers can easily recreate the pocha atmosphere and flavors at home.
'Skewered Fishcake Pocha Udon' is a ready-to-eat meal that can be prepared in under five minutes. It provides a hearty meal without the need for additional ingredients, making it suitable for camping and other outdoor activities. The product comes in two varieties: 'Pocha Udon' and 'Kimchi Udon,' allowing consumers to choose from a clean and mild broth or a spicy and savory broth according to their preferences.
With the rise in one- and two-person households and the growing trend of convenient consumption, demand for small-portion products has increased. In response, Samjin Fishcake designed this meal kit to serve two people, enhancing consumer convenience.
Samjin Fishcake's 'Skewered Fishcake Pocha Udon' and 'Skewered Fishcake Kimchi Udon' are available for purchase on the official Samjin Fishcake online store and Coupang. To celebrate the launch of the new products, the official online store is offering an event until the 26th, where 15% of the purchase amount will be credited as reward points.
Kim Taeseong, head of Samjin Fishcake's CX Division, said, "Recently, the number of one- and two-person households has increased, and more consumers are seeking convenient meals. We developed this meal kit so that people can easily enjoy the atmosphere and flavors of Samjin Pocha at home."
'Samjin Pocha,' operated by Samjin Fishcake, has become a representative hotspot in Gwangalli, surpassing 30,000 cumulative visitors just eight months after opening.
Samjin Fishcake was recognized at the '2024 Korea 100-Year Enterprise' event hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, receiving the 'Minister of SMEs and Startups Award.' The company has also ranked first for five consecutive years in the fishery processed foods category of the '27th Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI)' survey, and secured the top spot in the fishcake category at the '2025 Brand Customer Loyalty Awards,' solidifying its status as South Korea's leading fishcake brand.
